Supernatural Academy: Year Two by: Jaymin Eve
⚡🌊Supernatural Academy Year Two by: Jaymin Eve Review🌊⚡
To be honest, I am not even sure where to start with this review. Jaymin's books are capable of making you feel so many things, it's hard to process everything when you finish a book by her. You are emotionally spent and probably physically exhausted because you could not put the book down so you didn't get any sleep.
❤❤❤Also, just a shout-out, I am so honored to be able to be apart of Jaymin's ARC team. She has been my favorite author for so long, and it really is a dream to be apart of something so special. So thank you, Jaymin, for allowing me in. Your books have helped me in so many ways, more than you will ever truly know. ❤❤❤
When I say this, I am not exaggerating in any way, but Jaymin is the ONLY author to make me cry while reading a book. 😭😭😭 I feel emotional sometimes with other books, but never have I straight up ugly cried like I have with some of her books. I don't know how, but she just has this way of reaching into your chest and squeezing your heart so hard, you don't think you are going to make it to the end. But then you keep reading and things get better, things start to work out, and the hold on your heart lessens and you are just left speechless, staring at the last page of the book, wondering what the hell just happened.
This book...this book took me through all the feels. Like a roller coaster of every emotion you can imagine, speeding too fast, doing too many loops, just straight up causing mayhem in your brain.
I love Maddie. So much. She is such an amazing character, and she is SO damn strong. I don't think there are many characters out there who could go through what she has gone through, in such a short span of time and survive with their sanity somewhat intact.
And honestly, she can do it because she has such an amazing support system. Ilia, Larissa and all the guys. This family of hers, a family of her making, makes me jealous. To have so many people in your corner, cheering you on and holding you up when you can't do it yourself, is amazing. Everyone needs people like that in their lives. Everyone. We all need an Ilia and a Larissa. They are amazing, all the characters in this book are freaking amazing. The bond between all of them just fills your heart with warm fuzzies. They will do ANYTHING for each other, anything to keep each other safe. No matter what the sacrifice is. You can feel the bond through the pages, you can feel their love for one another. It's amazing.
"Family. It was my theme for this year." - Maddi
I absolutely adore her and Asher's relationship. They just work so well together. They truly are perfect mates. And everything they go through in this book is just a testament to the fact that they belong together. And her relationship with all the guys is so amazing. They all bring something different to the table, they all help her in different ways. <3 I love it so much.
"Listen up, water baby, you will get used to presents and birthdays and surprises. Because I'm not ever going to stop." - Asher
I won't give anything away, but this book is tumultuous, it is heartbreaking. You will want to cry, you will want to scream, you may want to chuck your book/phone across the room. BUT you have to remember this, this is✨ Jaymin✨, and we trust her. Trust that it'll get better. Trust that once you push through the rough parts that things WILL get better. Not trying to scare anyone off of reading this book, it is truly amazing. Jaymin is a magician with words. You need to read this, you HAVE TO READ THIS. It's just too good not to.
Words can't describe how this book tore me apart. And it's not the part that I think most would expect that got to me. It wasn't the explosion (won't say anymore on that) but it was the after. The parts of the book where you just felt your heart getting shredded to pieces. It's like your heart got put in a blender. I had to stop so many times, so I could breathe, so I could remind myself that things will get better, they always do. (something my momma used to always say to me.❤ )
“She’d mentioned dragon marked, but I had no idea what that was. I wished there was a book I could check out that would tell me everything. I paused. Amanda said they were famous. Maybe there was a book in the library about it. I’d find out soon enough.”
HAH amazing! I loved this!
⭐⭐WE GET TO SEE JESSA AND BRAXTON and some of the others from Supernatural Prison series.⭐⭐ I freaking love Jessa and Braxton, Tyson and Louis. Jessa is just the biggest bad ass ever. But she also has a huge heart, and instantly becomes a part of Maddi's family. I loved reading about them again and watching their new relationships form in this world. And Louis, well he is just Louis. There really isn't much more to say besides that. (&& BABIES <3)
"Yes. Just because you've had some strands destroyed does not mean you are weak. If anything, the fact that you are still standing here, trying to save the world, tells me that you're stronger than you will ever understand. Do not underestimate a delicate, beautiful thing. It is never weak." - Mab
I think this one quote sums up this entire book. This book is a fight, a fight for their lives. A fight for family, for love. ❤❤❤
***Random note: I wonder if we will see more of a character whose name starts with R and likes bars...They were very interesting and I want to know more!***
Sorry got off track there for a minute. But really, just read it. It's amazing and beautiful and heartbreaking and just everything a wonderful book should be. I'll end this review with my favorite quote from this book, something that rings so true with me and my life.
"I would go toe to toe with anyone who argued books weren't life savers. They were the work of whatever god kept us functional when the world seemed too hard to handle. They were the air when we couldn't breathe. The blood when it wouldn't pump in our veins. The beat of our heart when we were done trying to force life to go on. Books saved lives. Ends of story, pun intended."
Thank you, Jaymin. For this masterpiece. While I am so nervous for the next one, I know it will be everything we wanted and more. ❤
⭐⭐SYNOPSIS:⭐⭐
Year Two at the Academy! The year of purple.
Maddison James learned a lot about life last year. Only important stuff, of course. Like how to breathe under water, how to turn an arrow into a weapon, and how to fall in love.
Asher Locke. The one who stole her heart. The one who showed her the truth of her past and ... hopefully her future.
Now it's just time for them to live happily ever after.
Only the gods have different plans. And with Atlantis rising, Maddi isn't sure she'll survive long enough to even finish her second year, let alone have any sort of future.
Even worse, the sadistic Atlantean gods want to break her before they kill her. But Maddi has been underestimated before, and she has hidden strengths they'll never see coming.
Year of purple ... bring it on.
