Spy's Mask by: Frost Kay

Spy’s Mask Review

***I want to start this off with, these books are not for everyone. They are dark, intense, heart wrenching, and completely unpredictable. ***

Okay, so with that out of the way, I just have to say HOLY LORD.

This book was so freaking good. Like so good. Amazing good. 🙀🙀🙀

Frost really knows how to write a gripping tale, one where once you start, you can’t stop. It grabs you and pulls you in and doesn’t let go until it chews you up and spits you out. That may sound like a bad thing, but it’s not. Her books make you feel so many emotions, it’s incredible.

Sage’s tale is a hard one. It’s been fraught with so much pain. But damn, this girl can get back up again.

Zane thought that he broke her, that she would come back to him…but he was so wrong. I won’t say much more than that to avoid any spoilers.

I think Sage is one of the strongest characters I have ever read about, if not the strongest. The fact that she has been through so much, but still has the biggest heart, and is able to love and laugh is amazing. 💖💖💖

I love her and Tehl’s relationship. Tehl is…ultimate book boyfriend material. The way he loves her is #goals. I just love them together. They just make sense.

I also really love in this book how fierce all the women are. They all have tragic, heartbreaking pasts and even in the present they are fighting wars. But they rise up and stand tall. They look the evil of the world in the face and they tell them, “You can’t break me.” And it is so powerful. 🔥🔥🔥

Also, I really enjoy how each chapter switches to another point of view. It’s all these epic moving parts, and you can see, or try to see, how they are going to come together. But you know one thing, they will come together at some point. They have to. Because it is going to take everyone to defeat the warlord.

There is so much about this book I want to talk about, but I am afraid it will be too spoilery. 😭

I do want to take a moment and say, I ship Sam and Jas. I hope they are able to overcome everything, even themselves, and be together one day. And I just love Sam. His heart is so much bigger than he lets on and there are some scenes in this book that are just downright adorable! *heart eyes*

And to the warlord. Frost has made one of the most evil and if not the only, book villain that has ever made me truly shudder. He is so evil, it’s like you can feel it oozing through the pages. It’s just so strong and she writes just that good. The things he does, they are just unfathomable. There were several times where I had to stop reading and take a break because it was so emotionally intense. I had to remind myself that it’s not real because I could just feel my heartbreaking.

If you can handle the darkness, read this series. It is amazing!

I can’t wait to read the next book (which is also the last book). It’s going to be so intense and probably more emotionally charged than any of the others. But I hope to god that it’s Sage ending that evil bastard in the end…
