ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Shannon and I looooove to read! It really is my solace, my getaway from the world. I love immersing myself in new worlds and forgetting about reality for awhile.

A little about me: I live in Omaha, Nebraska. I've lived here my whole life, but I hope to move to the pacific northwest eventually! I have two dogs, Loki and Sia. As well as two cats, Ariel and Tifa. I live with my amazing fiance in a cozy little apartment with all four of our crazy animals. There is never a dull moment!

In the past few years, I have really started to become an avid reader and after going to my first book convention last year, Penned Con, I've come to realize I want to be a bigger part of the book world. I met so many wonderful people and really learned more about my favorite authors and the inner workings of everything books than I could have imagined.

So I decided to start a blog. I want to write better reviews, help authors get the word out about their books and maybe help some people find books that will help them, the way that they have helped me.

Thanks for stopping by! <3

Shout out to my beloved Momma, thank you for instilling the love of reading in me.

Love you, Mom. You are forever missed and loved <3

A little more about me:

My all time favorite author is Jaymin Eve. Her books are extraordinary! They just keep getting better and better. But her first series will always have a special place in my heart. When I first discovered First World, my mother was starting to get really sick. It was a really hard time for me. My mother was the biggest pillar in my life, she knew everything about me and accepted me for who I was. She was one of the few people who understood my depression and never made me feel less because of it. She had depression too, you see.

The Walker Saga (the first book is First World) really filled a void in my heart during that time. My mother wasn't really my mother anymore (she was but she wasn't, it's hard to explain), and these books sort of filled me with love and hope.  That's how amazing this woman's books are. The series was still releasing when my mother passed away and I feel as if these books were one of the few things getting me through. The characters felt like home, peace and security. All that I felt I had lost when I lost my mom. I will never stop advocating and telling people about her, because she is a magician with words.

Penned Con '18 <3

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting her at Penned Con last year and she is the sweetest, most genuine, caring person I have ever met. I thank the universe that I found her books.

Thank you, Jaymin. <3
